Chris has been a partner of CHP since the firm’s beginnings in 1989. Alongside his quantity surveying and commercial management skills, he has gained extensive knowledge of NEC ECC, ICE, JCT and FIDIC contracts, as well as contract law and claims settlement.
He is also an experienced trainer and speaker in connection with the application, implementation and use of the NEC ECC suite of contracts.
Chris has considerable experience in the implementation and operation of “Target Cost” type contracts in the UK and has acted as adviser to a US-based utilities company on the procurement of a water treatment plant on a “Target Cost” basis.
In addition, Chris has been instrumental in developing, implementing and monitoring financial, management and corporate compliance systems for businesses. He has been a member of due diligence teams involved in initial investigation and ultimate acquisition of businesses in the construction sector. He has been a key component in the negotiation, establishment and operation of numerous joint venture, consortium and partnering arrangements.
Chris’s industry experience and knowledge provide him with the necessary technical qualifications, commercial understanding and business attributes to offer practical advice and support to clients on financial, management and dispute resolution issues on building and civil engineering projects, from inception through to completion.
