Gerry has been a Partner of CHP since it was founded in 1989. He previously worked with consultants and contractors, gaining experience in a variety of construction sectors. Gerry’s range of skills covers all aspects of project management and cost control, dispute advice and contractual claims. He has a particular knowledge of fast-track construction methods, including construction management.
Having set up business operations in New York to serve blue-chip clients in the USA, Gerry has successfully developed and introduced cost management procedures into a number of new environments, adapting them to suit specific client needs.
In his role of client representative, Gerry has been responsible for procuring professional services and construction contracts, implementing project controls and negotiating often difficult final accounts. He is a firm believer in a business-like approach to his work, seeking rapid settlement of issues based on a detailed review, coupled with relatively informal mediation.
Commissions have included forensic analysis relating to construction disputes, problem solving and negotiation of settlements on a variety of projects. These services have involved examination of both consultant agreements and bespoke forms of construction contract.
Gerry’s wide experience and knowledge within the industry both in the UK and USA have provided him with strong technical skills and exceptional business attributes that offer clients effective, clear and decisive commercial solutions.
