Ian’s career spans more than forty years and covers a wide range of projects both in the UK and overseas. His range of skills includes quantity surveying, contractual advice, project management, commercial management and business management. For the last twenty years, Ian has been involved predominantly with major commercial and infrastructure developments.
In the 1980s, Ian played a leading part in the development of construction management systems to cope with the large, fast-track commercial developments in London. During this time, he worked with legal teams to devise forms of construction contract to suit innovative methods of procurement, in particular construction management.
During his long career, Ian has been involved in the successful management of several prominent projects, including the Broadgate development in London, a 2,400-seat auditorium in Kuala Lumpur, enablement works for the Shard project at London Bridge and many more. His broad experience and pragmatic, problem-solving skills have equipped him for his current speciality of providing commercial and contractual advice to a wide range of clients.
